The Quest for the Holy Grail tapestry is one of a series called The Quest of the Holy Grail designed in the 1890's by Morris & Co. The series was commissioned by the Australian millionaire W. K. D'Arcy and was inspired by Malory's famous poem Morte d'Arthur. Designed by Edward Burne-Jones (1833 - 1898), William Morris (1834 - 1896) and John Henry Dearle (1860 - 1932) between 1892 and 1895 it features 5 pieces, each recounting a different part of the story of King Arthur's search for the Holy Grail. This tapestry originally accompanied the series depicting King Arthur's quest and depicted the shields and heraldry of the knights involved. These included: Sir Gawaine, Sir Lancelot, Sir Hector, Sir Percival, Sir Bors and Sir Galahad.

This French tapestry is lined and has a tunnel for ease of wall-hanging - we enclose tapestry hanging information with your order. Please note that the largest two sizes are non-returnable.
